WSO2 Powers UK Public Sector Upskilling Through GetCertified Initiative

London, UK. October 2025WSO2, the leader in enterprise digital infrastructure technology, today announced its participation in the GetCertified programme, a UK public sector initiative designed to accelerate cloud skills and certification among digital, data, and technology professionals.

This initiative is led by the Central Digital and Data Office (CDDO) and aims to ensure that over 90% of public sector professionals complete cloud-related and technology training annually. Anyone with a public sector email address, such as gov.uk, nhs.uk, and police.uk, is eligible to participate in the programme, which features key training providers including AWS, Microsoft, Google Cloud, and WSO2.

Running from 1st October to 31st December 2025, GetCertified offers both foundational and advanced certifications. The initiative also promotes career progression and role transition, with a strong focus on diversity and inclusion through targeted programmes such as CloudUp for Her and TechHer.

“We’re proud to support the GetCertified initiative and help accelerate technology capability across the UK public sector. By offering free access to WSO2’s training and certifications, we’re empowering professionals to build the skills needed for secure, scalable digital transformation, while promoting inclusion and career mobility across government teams,” said Richard Evans, UK and Ireland Country Manager, WSO2.

Today, 21 million working-age adults in the UK lack essential digital skills for work, including basic online safety, collaboration tools, and accessing digital services. This limits access to jobs and public services, threatens to widen social inequality, and risks slowing the UK’s economic and technological progress. And yet, this gap is widespread across sectors, including government, and is “stubbornly static” despite growing digital demands.

“These statistics reinforce the urgency behind initiatives like GetCertified, which aim to close the skills gap and prepare public sector professionals for a digitally resilient future,” adds Richard Evans.

WSO2 is offering its online training courses free of charge via its Learning Management System (LMS) at https://lms.wso2.com/. In addition, selected certification exams are also available at no cost.
