I’m not sure what to call it — what noun I should attach to this creature. “Framework” and “Platform” have become, to my ears, rather meaningless jargon designed to detach suit-wearing types from their money. “Harness” is close.
Recently, Cloudera announced the release of Cloudera CDP Private Cloud, delivering the final component of our hybrid cloud strategy. There’s nothing comparable to it in the industry. CDP Private Cloud offers benefits of a public cloud architecture—autoscaling, isolation, agile provisioning, etc.—in an on-premise environment.
NodeJS is a server-side platform that’s built on the JavaScript Engine (V8 Engine) of Google Chrome. It’s an open-source, cross-platform runtime environment for JavaScript code execution outside the browser. The platform, being event-driven, works on a non-blocking I/O model, making it lightweight and effective in building web applications. With the platform, you could simultaneously run code on the client and server side, hastening the development process.

While cloud is the vehicle, it’s what sits on it that makes it so valuable — data.
