Late last month, innovators from across the telecommunications spectrum — and all the industries that rely on connectivity to succeed — gathered at Mobile World Congress Barcelona (MWC), the biggest telecom conference of the year.

Discussions about AI could be heard throughout the 7th annual Appian Government event, held November 29, 2023 at Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia. At breakfast, a customer sitting next to me mentioned how he’s looking forward to hearing how AI can help mine his historical data. “And securely,” another added. In a lunchtime conversation, yet another customer told me about the productive meeting they had with Appian on incorporating AI into their processes.

Big data is more crucial to businesses than ever, especially with the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies across multiple industries. The expanding internet of things (IoT) plus the multiple digital engagement points between businesses and customers create huge swathes of data and new challenges in how to manage this glut of information.

In 2023, many business intelligence conferences returned to in-person events. While some events slated for 2024 are still virtual or hybrid, this year's top business intelligence events have something in common from Spain, to France, Italy, Japan, Australia and Las Vegas in the United States.

We had a jam-packed week alongside more than 60,000 attendees at Amazon Web Services (AWS) re:Invent, one of the largest hands-on conferences in the cloud computing industry. Engaging with partners and customers — and showcasing what’s new on the Snowflake product front — made for a dynamic time in Las Vegas. Along with approximately 70,000 other souls from around the globe, the NodeSource team attended Web Summit 2023 earlier this month. Famous for being the largest European tech event (or even the world), Web Summit was full of riveting AI conversations, more than 2,600 startups, and plenty of tasty food trucks and, of course, amazing local cuisine.

API Summit 2023 is a wrap!
