Announcing Standard Webhooks

We're pleased to announce the launch of Standard Webhooks! Kong has been part of the Technical Committee of this standard with other great companies like Svix (the initiator of the project), Ngrok, Zapier, Twillio, Lob, Mux, and Supabase. This was a year-long effort of gathering feedback, use cases, and debating about what and how to define what landed. Standard Webhooks is one initiative to standardize the way producers and consumers can have a contract to communicate.

What is Apache Flink?

Learn the basics of Apache Flink® and how to get started with simple, serverless Flink! Flink is a powerful, battle-hardened stream processor that has rapidly grown in popularity, becoming the de facto standard for stream processing and a top-five Apache project. Kai Waehner, Field CTO at Confluent, explains how Flink fits into your data streaming architecture, why stream processing is needed for real-time data, and how Flink’s underlying architecture provides a number of advantages.

Which Cloud Database Platform to Choose for Your Applications

If your application needs persistent data, you are going to need a database. Easier said than done because managing a database can be a challenge. Not only do you need to set up, maintain, scale, and patch databases, but also you need to create strong backup policies, ensure sharding and replications. Long story short, managing a database is time-consuming and requires a dedicated and skilled team, which is why people opt for managed databases, sometimes referred to as DBaaS or Database as a Service.

Dispelling the Hype of AI Process Automation: Appian Government 2023 Keynote

Discussions about AI could be heard throughout the 7th annual Appian Government event, held November 29, 2023 at Capital One Hall in Tysons, Virginia. At breakfast, a customer sitting next to me mentioned how he’s looking forward to hearing how AI can help mine his historical data. “And securely,” another added. In a lunchtime conversation, yet another customer told me about the productive meeting they had with Appian on incorporating AI into their processes.

Predictions: The Cybersecurity Challenges of AI

Our recently released predictions report includes a number of important considerations about the likely trajectory of cybercrime in the coming years, and the strategies and tactics that will evolve in response. Every year, the story is “Attackers are getting more sophisticated, and defenders have to keep up.” As we enter a new era of advanced AI technology, we identify some surprising wrinkles to that perennial trend.

My Top 5 Data Moments for 2023

Data has had quite the year, hasn’t it? I have worked in the data and analytics space more years than I would like to admit, but I can honestly say that it’s been one of the most exciting, wild rides in recent memory. Qlik has been along for that ride, and brought quite a bit of excitement all on its own. So I thought I would recap the five moments that really stand out for me from the world of data… and Qlik in 2023. But, hang on.

Making Flink Serverless, With Queries for Less Than a Penny

Imagine easily enriching data streams and building stream processing applications in the cloud, without worrying about capacity planning, infrastructure and runtime upgrades, or performance monitoring. That's where our serverless Apache Flink® service comes in, as announced at this year’s Current | The Next Generation of Kafka Summit.
